if you want to go to the Singapore zoo or Singapore night safari, I have a recommendation for another place that is no less interesting. It is located next to the two places. Yes, that’s right, this place is called River Safari Singapore!

This river themed safari has 6000 animals, 300 animal species, and 150 plant species set in various world famous rivers. Unique isn’t it?

Well, let’s see why you should come to this place below!

1. Meet animals from world famous rivers!

At the Singapore River Safari there are many cute and unique animals. Starting from various types of birds, colorful plants, fish, amphibians, to mammals. From the big fish Arapaima typical of the Amazon to the Jaguar you can find here.

In addition, there are also giant pandas, salamanders, and crocodiles! River Safari Singapore is the only river themed safari in Asia. This place is inspired by famous rivers in the world, which are then made mini versions on this 30-hectare safari.

The rivers that go into this safari are the Amazon River, Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Mekong and Yangtze.

2. Amazon River Quest

The Amazon River is the second longest river in the world. But if you look at the volume of water, the Amazon River is the largest river in the world!

If you don’t know, the width of this river when it’s in the dry season is 4 kilometers, but when it’s the rainy season, the width can reach 190 km! With this measure, the Amazon River is often referred to as the River Sea,  aka a river that resembles the sea.

Now at River Safari Singapore, you can explore the miniature Amazon river with your family by taking a small boat. You will feel the sensation of this mysterious river in South America for 10 minutes. Along the way you will also meet other tropical forest animals!

3. Meet the Giant Panda!

At the top of the Yangtze River is a place for the cute Pandas to live. This is the most adorable animal I have ever seen. But indeed this Panda population has greatly decreased in the world.

There are only about 1600 pandas in the wild. Two of them are at River Safari Singapore. Kai-kai and Jia-jia are the two Pandas that we can meet here. They are protected animals. Therefore, the panda has become a symbol of protection and conservation of wild animals. The Chinese consider this panda a national treasure. For that we must keep it.

Btw this panda only eats bamboo and doesn’t eat rice. How come his body is so big huh? :))

4. ….And the Red Panda!

In addition to the chubby big panda , there are also other pandas that you can meet. This one panda is smaller, like a fox. Even like a cat.

It is red and hairy. The fur on its face is white, its body is red, and its four leg hairs are black. Like wearing stockings. Even though he looks like a fox, his behavior is 100 percent the same as Kai Kai and Jia!

5. Enjoy the River Safari Cruise!

Unlike the Amazon river Quest which simulates the amazon river habitat and its inhabitants, this River Safari Cruise is much more relaxed. The boat will cruise along the Upper Seletar Reservoir and allow us to relax and take pictures with nature. Perfect for closing the day on a River Safari Cruise after a day of hanging out with the wild animals!

Book your tickets and enjoy holidays with Singapore Airlines.
