Fear of flying woman in plane airsick

Traveling is a passion for many, flying a little less so. While many people practice meditation or try to distract themselves by listening to relaxing music, others constantly ask the flight personnel for reassurance about the presence of possible turbulence. Anxious about flying? There is a site that predicts turbulence in flight.

The site that predicts turbulence
It’s called Turbli.com, it’s free and, for now, only available in English. It provides reliable forecasts about flights and possible turbulence along any existing route. Using it is very simple: just go to the homepage, select the flight date (the site provides detailed forecasts only for the current day and the following day) and type in the names of the departure and destination airports. Within a few seconds, the platform will show you some maps and graphs relating to the forecast and the possible presence of storms, strong currents or turbulence. It is worth noting that all the maps are constantly updated.

Needless to say, Turbli has immediately gained great success among travelers from all over the world. What makes it a useful and effective tool are its ease of use, the intuitiveness of the information reported and, above all, the reliability of the sources. Yes, because the information that Turbli takes into consideration is the same that is normally consulted by airlines and pilots called upon to plan flights. The cartographic models used by the site are developed and distributed by the Met Office (the national meteorological service of the United Kingdom) and NOAA (the American agency that deals with the study of the climate) and guarantee extremely realistic estimates.

What are the most difficult routes?
In addition to the information just mentioned, Turbli also shows curiosities such as the list of the most turbulent flights. The latter is born from the analysis of all the recorded routes, over 150 thousand worldwide. The busiest flight of 2025? The one connecting Santiago de Chile to Santa Cruz. An Italian stopover also appears in the top positions: it seems, in fact, that the Milan – Geneva route is not recommended for those who suffer from anxiety. According to the most recent data, however, Guatemala, Nicaragua and the Azores would be the three destinations that during the last summer season recorded the most turbulent flights ever. Now the question is: can knowing what has been said really alleviate the anxiety of flying?
